msconfig, the System Configuration Utility. It's the program/utility where you can change boot, start up and services settings of your computer.
To launch it, do the following:
1. Click start and search for msconfig (7, and vista)
2. Click start, run, and type msconfig (for xp)
3. hit enter
You will see 4 tabs. The General Tab, Boot, Services, Start up, and the Tools tab. (note: xp might be different)All we need here is the Start up tabs only (services might also be useful)
Click the Start up tab, now uncheck ALL, except your Añti-Virŭs. (for example, if you're using ävast, leave it checked). Now click apply, and then Ok, Restart your computer.
Your computer should be much faster now. :)
